Changing Healthcare Through Research

We’re at the forefront of research and evidence-based practice at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. Our research teams have presented their work on the global stage and partnered with top medical institutions and clinics across the country on game-changing discoveries and treatments. As a result, our medical teams are recognized as pioneers in healthcare.

This level of excellence is made possible through a vast network of resources across our system:

  • Our nine major hospitals serve nearly all of Louisiana as well as Mississippi’s largest metro area.
  • Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge provides the region’s only Level I trauma hospital.
  • Our cancer centers in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Jackson and Monroe provide a variety of cancer patients with access to highly specialized and comprehensive care.
  • Our pediatric services include surgical neonatal intensive care units and pediatric intensive care units in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Monroe.

The biggest winners in this comprehensive network of care are our patients, who get improved outcomes and access to the best new treatments and procedures in both adult and pediatric care.
