Thank you for your interest in our program! Accredited in 2022, we are a new and growing program with the goal of preparing the healthcare professionals of tomorrow for excellence in their medical practice through interprofessional learning, focus on quality and patient safety, and compassionate examples in our teaching faculty. We have a diverse patient population with a broad range of pathological diagnoses that will interest and educate any learner.
Our hospital was established in 1913 by six Franciscan Sisters who were called by God to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to God's people, especially those most in need. From our modest beginning as a three-story red brick building with 75 patients, St. Francis Medical Center has grown to become northeast Louisiana's largest healthcare provider.
Today, we offer an acute-care hospital with 321-beds, a freestanding outpatient center and 20 outpatient clinics. We have more than 1,800 team members and nearly 350 physician partners committed to caring for those we serve. St. Francis Medical Center provides comprehensive healthcare services for a variety of medical and surgical specialties. St. Francis offers northeast Louisiana’s only Level 3 NICU, Level 3 OB and Level 2 PICU services. We lead the region in heart and vascular services, critical care and complex and minimally invasive surgical procedures. The hospital offers a designated Level 3 Trauma Program, Accredited Chest Pain Center and Centers of Excellence in the areas of obstetrics, bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, minimally invasive gynecology and breast health.
We hope you will consider joining our ministry as you answer the call to serve others.
