Our hospital was established in 1913 by six Franciscan Sisters in a three-story red brick building. Today, we are northeast Louisiana's largest healthcare provider with an acute-care hospital with 325 beds, a freestanding outpatient center and more than 20 outpatient clinics. We have more than 1,800 team members and nearly 350 physician partners committed to caring for those we serve.
In March 2021, we received initial accreditation to begin work on the Internal Medicine Residency Program. That included the recruitment of faculty, partnership with our local medical school and a 7,000-square-foot renovation to create our 7th floor Academic Affairs Suite. This new academic endeavor fits in with our mission to be a healing presence for the communities we are privileged to serve.
