Prospective Pediatric Residency Applicants

Thank you for your interest in Our Lady of the Lake Pediatric Residency Program. Our program is part of a vibrant and growing health system in Louisiana, deeply rooted in our mission to serve those most in need.

Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital opened in October 2019. The facility serves as an epicenter of pediatric healthcare excellence in Louisiana. We hope you will join us in Baton Rouge, a modern economic center for higher education and medical innovation, as well as a place of Southern culture and hospitality.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documentation on ERAS:

  • Three letters of recommendation from medical school faculty or practitioners with whom you have worked and who can comment on your personal and professional qualifications. One letter must come from a pediatrician who can directly address your potential to become a pediatrician.
  • One-page personal statement
  • USMLE/COMLEX 1 and 2 transcript
  • Dean's letter
  • Transcript
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Photo
  • DO Applicants: USMLE is not required

Our residency program selects applicants on the basis of their preparedness, ability, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. Our program does not discriminate with regard to sex, age, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran status.

All residents must meet and maintain the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners requirements for a permit/intern card for physicians in training or unrestricted medical licensure.

What to Expect on Your Interview Day at Our Lady of the Lake

Prior to the interview you will receive instructions on areas to explore on our website to help prepare you for your interview day.

  • All of our interviews for 2023-2024 will be virtual via Zoom.
  • Our virtual interviews begin in October and go through January.
  • We look forward to meeting you – virtually!
