A Culture of Excellence in Quality

Our Commitment to Quality Care

At the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, our commitment is to always provide our patients with the best care possible. We define quality as the total sum of each patient’s experience while in our care. This includes patient satisfaction with our team members and their physicians, with the environment of our facility, with the expected outcome from the care provided, and even the technology used in the treatment process.

Our commitment to quality inspires us to relentlessly pursue clinical best practices and embrace the technological innovations that lead to desired outcomes while adhering to the mission and values of our Catholic healthcare traditions. Above all else, our goal is to always deliver excellent, safe care.

We know the importance of providing quality healthcare. That's why we are committed to always improving by studying clinical innovations and outcomes, analyzing our processes and adopting evidence-based treatments and best practices.

Our Commitment to Diversity

We believe diversity, equity and inclusion are practices that enhance our ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and communities. We are pleased to share that nearly 100 percent of our leaders and team members across our health system have participated in training to have shared language and understanding as we continue to be a spiritual and healing presence for our patients and each other. We also provide our team members with a Culture & Spiritual Guide from The Joint Commission, which helps them understand and honor the diverse backgrounds, beliefs and preferences of our patients.

What Does Quality Mean?

The Institute of Medicine defines healthcare quality as the degree to which healthcare services, individuals and population increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge. Quality care is seen as:

  • Safe – avoiding injuries to patients from care that is intended to help them
  • Effective – avoiding overuse and misuse of care
  • Patient-centered – providing care that is unique to a patient’s needs
  • Timely – reducing wait times and harmful delays for patients and providers
  • Efficient – avoiding waste of equipment, supplies, ideas and energy
  • Equitable – providing care that does not vary across populations

We strive to meet and exceed these areas of quality through our customer service practice of providing each patient and guest with an exceptional experience every time.

Quality care is always our top priority—from the moment you enter any of our facilities until you leave. That's why we strive to not only meet but exceed all regulations and standards of care set forth for hospitals nationwide by government agencies as well as The Joint Commission. We take quality seriously and have formed various multidisciplinary committees to address best practices, new protocols, safety, patient satisfaction and more.

We are here to serve our communities. Honoring that commitment means sharing objective data about our performance. That's why we've gathered our measures of quality for you to review, along with updates on recent accomplishments and important achievements.
