Comprised of 85 experts, Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute takes one comprehensive approach to treatment. The multidisciplinary team is expanding to welcome experienced providers in both thoracic surgery and medical oncology. The cancer institute is also home to a new world-class Hematologic Malignancy Cell Therapy program for blood cancers and blood disorders.

Research is a key component of Our Lady of the Lake Health, and cancer is no exception. All cancer patients at the Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute are evaluated for participation in a clinical trial, many of which are conducted by Our Lady of the Lake’s clinical research team right here in Baton Rouge.

Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute was named a 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award winner by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, a distinction earned by only the top 7 percent of cancer centers nationwide. The institute is also accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Commission on Cancer (CoC) as a comprehensive community cancer program and holds a second accreditation from the CoC, National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC).

Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute has also been recognized by the QOPI Certification Program, which recognizes oncology practices that meet national standards for cancer care.
