Susan has a wealth of experience with over 25 years leading successful cancer teams. Her expertise in healthcare management, strategic planning and team development is incredibly valuable as we continue to grow Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute making a difference for cancer patients in our region. Susan earned a bachelor’s degree from William Carey University and a master’s degree of science in healthcare management. She has earned a number of awards throughout her career including the DAISY Award in 2010, Nurse of the Year at Ochsner West Bank in 2008 and a Great 100 Nurse honor in 2007.
Dr. Nuss is a world-renowned leader in cancer treatment, bringing extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams to advance cancer research and specialized care. He leads the Head and Neck Center at Our Lady of the Lake, the largest specialty practice of its kind in the Gulf South. Under his leadership, the program has earned Top 50 recognition by U.S. News & World Report. He is Professor and Chair of Otolaryngology for LSU Health Sciences Center with a dual appointment in the LSU Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Nuss is past president of the North American Skull Base Society, an international professional group of advanced specialists who treat disorders of the cranial base, and he has also served as a senior examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology.
