March 18, 2025
Baton Rouge, LA – Our Lady of the Lake, part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS), is excited to announce a new expansion of services in Ascension Parish. The new Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute St. Elizabeth Infusion Center brings life-saving treatments to the heart of our community, providing patients with advanced care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
“We are honored to bring this essential service to Ascension Parish,” said Christopher Trevino, MD, VP physician executive at Our Lady of the Lake St. Elizabeth. “This expansion is meeting the growing needs of our community. High-quality, compassionate cancer care is now available close to home.”
The state-of-the-art facility opened on February 27th and features 15 infusion chairs in a 4,109 square foot space. The expert care team is dedicated to providing personalized treatment to all patients receiving chemo or non-chemo medications, or blood products. The center was designed for all patients’ comfort by including both private and open infusion areas.
“By reducing the need for travel, our local patients can focus on their healing,” said Chuck Spicer, president of Our Lady of the Lake Health and the Baton Rouge market. “Access to life-saving care is more accessible than ever, and our health system’s dedication to excellence continues.”
The Our Lady of the Lake St. Elizabeth Infusion Center is just one of many new services coming to Ascension. Dedicated to meeting the growing needs of the parish, the community will see additional services and expansion over the next year.
