Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute Welcomes Thomas Marsden, MD

BATON ROUGE— Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute is pleased to welcome Thomas Marsden, MD, to its expert team of thoracic surgeons. Dr. Marsden uses the most innovative and minimally invasive techniques, including surgical robots, to provide precise surgical care of the lungs, esophagus and chest wall.
Dr. Marsden sees patients at Our Lady of the Lake’s thoracic clinics in both Baton Rouge and Gonzales. He also performs surgeries at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and Our Lady of the Lake Ascension in Gonzales, providing access to premiere surgical care to Ascension residents.

Dr. Marsden received his bachelor of science from Louisiana State University and earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine – Shreveport. He recently completed his integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky – Lexington.
Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, Dr. Marsden has always called Louisiana his second home. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, watching sports and collecting sports memorabilia, hunting and fishing.
Dr. Marsden joins the thoracic clinic, which is devoted to the surgical care of diseases of the lungs, esophagus and chest wall and takes a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of chest disorders to improve and streamline the overall patient experience. The clinical pathway seamlessly integrates surgeons with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonology, radiology and pathologists.
