Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute Earns Heart Failure Accreditation from American College of Cardiology

August 19, 2024

Baton Rouge, LA – Our Lady of the Lake Heart and Vascular Institute recently received official Heart Failure Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), marking a significant milestone as the first medical center in the Baton Rouge region to achieve this designation. The center is just one of three medical facilities in the state with the accreditation.

This accreditation is awarded to facilities that meet the ACC's rigorous standards for quality and excellence in the management of heart failure. It underscores Our Lady of the Lake’s commitment to delivering exceptional cardiac care through comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans and cutting-edge medical practices.

“We are honored to receive this accreditation from the American College of Cardiology,” said Denzil Moraes, MD, medical director of Our Lady of the Lake Heart and Vascular Institute. “It is reflective of our team’s dedication to providing outstanding care for patients with heart failure. Our team’s expertise, combined with our advanced technology and collaborative approach, ensures that we deliver the highest standard of care.”

Heart failure is a complex and chronic condition that requires meticulous management to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. The ACC’s accreditation process includes a thorough evaluation of a facility’s clinical practices, patient outcomes, and overall quality of care.

As the only facility in the Baton Rouge area to earn this accreditation, Our Lady of the Lake continues to lead the way in cardiovascular health, offering a range of services designed to support patients throughout their heart failure journey. The center’s multidisciplinary team works closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating the latest advancements in cardiology and supportive therapies.

In addition to the expert medical care the institute offers for patients experiencing heart failure, Our Lady of the Lake offers a heart failure support group. The group meets monthly to connect patients and their families with resources and open discussion to help them through their heart failure diagnosis.
