Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary

June 27, 2024

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic celebrated ten years since opening. The clinic brings together experts from across pediatric disciplines to provide complete care for children with craniofacial conditions.

"We are incredibly proud to mark the ten-year anniversary of our Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic,” Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health President Jonathan Brouk said. “Over the past decade, we've been honored to care for so many exceptional children, providing them with the comprehensive and compassionate treatment they deserve to thrive.”

The Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic is a multidisciplinary network of providers coordinated through a partnership between the LSU Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. This expert team works together to coordinate the care of children with cleft and craniofacial disorders and supports patients physically, emotionally and socially.

“The Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health Cleft and Craniofacial Clinic is truly changing lives,” Dr. Laura Hetzler, Director of the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital Cleft Team said. “Our team stands out nationally as a positive, kind and educational experience for the families and patients we’re privileged to serve. I am proud of the work we do here and will continue to offer exceptional care to patients in Louisiana and beyond for years to come.”

Since the clinic opened in 2014 it has grown from seeing patients five times a year with six providers to seeing patients twice a month with over 20 providers. The clinic has served patients from across Louisiana, in addition to Mississippi, Texas and as far away as Colorado.
