Our Lady of the Lake Welcomes 75 New Medical Residents
March 17, 2023
BATON ROUGE, LA - Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center welcomed 75 new residents and fellows through the National Resident Matching Program’s Match Day on Friday, March 17. This annual event matches medical students with residency programs in their chosen areas of specialty. Graduating medical students across the country receive their match information at the same time on the same day.
Our Lady of the Lake, the largest academic medical center in the region, serves as a training site for hundreds of residents and medical students on the hospital’s campuses each year. Residents work side-by-side with doctors and clinical teams to provide advanced medical care to patients.
“As a nationally recognized academic medical center, these new physicians will experience exceptional and innovative training that will be valuable as they begin their medical careers,” shared Chuck Spicer, president at Our Lady of the Lake Health. “We welcome this group of talented individuals to Baton Rouge and we look forward to the contribution they will make working alongside our team to serve our community.”
Residents will join the following residency programs at Our Lady of the Lake:
- Our Lady of the Lake Pediatric Residency
- LSU-Our Lady of the Lake Psychiatry Residency
- LSU Emergency Medicine Residency
- LSU Internal Medicine Residency

"We are shaping the future of healthcare in our region through new residents who join us each year.
