Dr. Rezaul Islam, Interventional Cardiologist, Joins SFMG

MONROE, LA – St. Francis Medical Group (SFMG) is proud to announce that Rezaul Islam, MD, has joined the organization’s growing team of specialty care providers.
Dr. Islam will serve patients through the St. Francis Cardiology Clinic at two locations: 3100 Forsythe Avenue in Monroe and 606 East Water Street in Farmerville.
Dr. Islam is Board Certified in cardiology and has been practicing adult cardiology in our community since 1998. He received his medical degree from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh and Registrar in Medicine from Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon, United Kingdom. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and served as Chief Resident Internal Medicine at Western Pennsylvania Hospital for the period 1994-1995. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital and serves as a member of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Islam is well-known in communities across Northeast Louisiana. He joined the St. Francis medical staff in 1999. Since that time, he has cared for countless patients in our community. He is passionate about heart health and ensuring his patients have accessible, high-quality care. When he is not in the clinic, Dr. Islam enjoys gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking and playing tennis.
