TROPICAL STORM FRANCINE | September 10, 2024 | 12:00 p.m.
As Tropical Storm Francine approaches the Gulf Coast, we are closely monitoring the weather situation and preparing for any potential impact to operations.
While we mainly expect tropical storm-type winds here in Jackson, we do anticipate an increase in the number of people in our area who may evacuate from coastal regions.
All operations remain normal across the Jackson Region today.
Here's how you can help prepare:
- Ensure essential equipment is powered by a red plug. These outlets are not impacted in the event of a power surge or outage.
- Check BPA machines and enter IS tickets for any support needs ahead of the forecasted weather.
- Review downtime procedures.
- Communicate with your leader about your role and expectations.

January 14, 2024 | Winter Weather Update
Team,
We continue preparations for the forecasted winter weather event. Our Emergency Management Team is closely monitoring the situation and providing regular briefings and updates to senior leadership as the situation evolves.
A few key updates to note:
-
Facilities | Our Engineering and Security teams are prepared to keep our facilities as safe as possible throughout this weather event. Entrances and walkways will be salted ahead of precipitation, and Security will monitor parking areas and add salt to any icy accumulation. We are preparing for additional 24-hour rounding to monitor for any impact of the extreme cold on our buildings and operations.
- Housing | For essential team members who prefer to stay onsite rather than travel home between shifts, please provide your name, contact information and times when sleeping accommodations are needed to your leader.
-
Food and Nutrition | Our FNS team is prepared to feed additional staff and visitors as needed during the weather event. We may request that team members visit our dining areas at certain times to ensure our food service areas are not overwhelmed at any one point in time.
- Incident Command | We are prepared to open an incident command structure to ensure consistent and timely communication, identification of issues, escalation and resolution. We will alert you as to if and when the Command Center opens.
- Dominicare | The team at Dominicare is making staffing arrangements to maintain normal operating hours.
- Transportation | We are exploring options for supporting team members in traveling to and from work during difficult road conditions. More information will be communicated as known. Please communicate any related requests or needs with your one-up to share with senior leadership.
- Clinic and Imaging Locations | As of this writing, clinic and imaging locations are planning for regular operating hours on Monday and will adjust operations as needed based on evolving weather conditions and patient needs or cancellations.
- St. Catherine's Village | Similar to the steps outlined for the hospital, the team at St. Catherine's has prepared to ensure its residents and team members are safe and cared for throughout the low temperatures and potentially icy conditions.
