Admissions and Discharge

Thank you for choosing Our Lady of Lourdes Health. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service from admission to discharge. Below, you will find important information about your stay and pre-admission at each of our major facilities.

Admission to Our Faclities

  • Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center

    Admissions

    Patients arriving at the hospital for inpatient care or outpatient surgery/procedures should check in through the Admissions Office. Whether your admission is scheduled or you arrive in an emergency, Our Lady of Lourdes' admissions team is available to help you get registered as quickly as possible. Room accommodation is determined by your physician according to your medical needs and bed availability.

    Please leave all valuables at home or send them home with a family member. Our Lady of Lourdes is not responsible for damage or loss to personal property or items.

    Pre-Admission Process

    Once your physician’s office has scheduled you for a procedure at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, you are required to register through the pre-admit department. Please expect a phone call to schedule your REQUIRED pre-admit visit. If you do not receive a call to schedule your appointment, please call (337) 470-2955 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (except for holidays).

    In preparation for this visit, you will need to bring all current medications in the original bottles (prescription and over-the-counter medications, eye and ear drops).

    Note: We encourage all patients to register in the pre-admit department during hours of operation. However, if your schedule doesn't allow, please call for pre-admitting after hours at your earliest convenience.

  • Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital

    Admissions

    Patients arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital should enter through the Main Entrance and check in at the Information Desk in the Main Lobby.

    Pre-Admission Process

    All patients must complete pre-registration in the Main Lobby of Our Lady of Lourdes Women's & Children's Hospital at 4600 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy.

  • Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital

    Our registration department handles pre-admissions and admissions for all scheduled inpatient and outpatient surgeries, as well as scheduled medical admissions. Patients can register for admission using the following guidelines:

    On the day of a scheduled procedure (surgery, catheterization lab, radiology, etc.), patients can check in for registration as early as 4:30 a.m. Before 6 a.m., please check in through the Emergency Walk-In entrance on the north (left) side of the building. After 6 a.m., please check in at the Concierge desk in the Main Lobby.

Discharge from Our Facilities

We will make every effort to ensure the discharge process addresses all your questions and concerns. To expedite your discharge, please let us know if you have any special needs (home health, medical equipment, etc.) you may require.

When you are ready to go home, your doctor will write a discharge order. Your nurse will give you written instructions as per your doctor's order for follow-up care, medications and follow-up appointments. Please review the discharge summary with your nurse, sign and take your copy.

Please make transportation arrangements once notified you will be discharged from the hospital. If you need assistance, notify your nurse, who will work with Social Services to secure transportation for you. Ambulance transportation can be arranged for medical reasons only on the recommendations of your doctor.

Please collect all personal items, medication or medical equipment. Double-check all drawers and closets. Reclaim valuables from the safe. Our Lady of Lourdes is not responsible for damage or loss to personal property or items.

You may receive a questionnaire at home after your stay. Please take a moment to complete the questionnaire and return it to us. Your feedback will help us continue providing the best possible experience for you and other patients and families we serve.
