Our Lady of the Angels Hospital Receives Top Honors at LSNA Nightingale Award

Bogalusa, LA – Our Lady of the Angels Hospital was honored with two prestigious awards at the Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA) Nightingale Awards. The hospital was named Hospital of the Year (61 to 160 beds), a testament to its ongoing commitment to delivering quality patient care. Additionally, Janice Augustine, RN, registered infection control nurse at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, was inducted into the LSNA Hall of Fame, celebrating her lifelong dedication to nursing and leadership in infection control practices.

The Nightingale Awards, named in honor of Florence Nightingale, recognize the achievements of nursing professionals and healthcare organizations across Louisiana. The awards ceremony celebrates the contributions of those who exemplify excellence in nursing and healthcare.

This award is a testament to our relentless pursuit of outstanding patient care and our innovative approach to healthcare,” said Chuck Spicer, Our Lady of the Angels Health and Our Lady of the Lake Health president. “I am especially proud of Janice’s Hall of Fame induction, which honors her contributions to nursing and highlights the high standards of care we uphold every day.”

The Hospital of the Year award recognizes Our Lady of the Angels for its exceptional quality of care, innovative practices and unwavering focus on patient safety. This award highlights the hospital's commitment to excellence and its significant contributions to healthcare in the region.

Augustine's induction into the Hall of Fame is a tribute to her remarkable career and her pivotal role in advancing infection control protocols. Her dedication has not only enhanced patient outcomes but also set a high standard for her peers in the field.
