Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System Receives Three Awards in Recognition for Excellence in IS Innovation
October 27, 2024
Baton Rouge, LA - The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) has recently been awarded for three outstanding achievements in Information Services. These awards come from Epic HRS, EMRAM and CHIME.
“Our achievements are a direct result of the collective efforts of our dedicated team members, who strive every day to support our healthcare teams and drive innovation in healthcare technology,” said Will Landry, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “It is through their relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation that we continue to set new standards and make significant strides in our field. Their collective efforts not only drive our success but also inspire a future where healthcare is more accessible, efficient, and transformative for all.”
FMOLHS has earned the Summa Cum Laude in Version 7 Honor Roll distinction from Epic. Epic is an electronic health record system that is used to facilitate clinical care across the health system. The Honor Roll Program is a recognition-based program dependent on an organization’s use of Epic’s lessons, strategies, and best practices. To be eligible for the Summa Cum Laude distinction, an organization must complete all nine components of the program. This is the program’s highest recognition achievable, and FMOLHS shares this achievement with only two other health care organizations in the nation for 2024.
“This prestigious award marks the fifth time FMOLHS has been recognized on the honor roll by Epic, a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence,” said E.J. Kuiper, FMOLHS President and CEO. “We take immense pride in our team’s relentless drive for continuous improvement and their dedication to setting new benchmarks in healthcare. Their tireless efforts and innovative spirit are the cornerstone of our success, propelling us forward as leaders in the industry. This recognition not only celebrates our past achievements but also inspires us to continue striving for greatness in all that we do for our patients.”
Additionally, FMOLHS has reached Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) Stage 6 validation from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). This recognition highlights the health system’s successful use of electronic medical record technology to deliver positive clinical outcomes, enhance patient engagement, and support the system’s mission to improve health for the communities they serve.
Finally, the third recognition was awarded to the health system by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). FMOLHS has received the Acute Level 9 – Ambulatory Level 9 award after participating in the 2024 Digital Health Most Wired Survey. This grading comes after a thorough study of the health system’s digital health profile. The level 9 distinction – scored on a scale of 1 to 10 – positions the health system as a leader in the industry and showcases FMOLHS’s goal to continue to advance in its role in shaping the future of healthcare technology.
