Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital, home to the largest OB-GYN team in the region, is thrilled to enhance our OB care team with Acadiana’s first Certified Nurse Midwife program. 

Certified nurse midwives are registered nurses who successfully completed a national certification exam after graduating from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. They are specially trained in women’s health and are qualified to provide care to women from adolescence through menopause.

Our Certified Nurse Midwives can assist you with:

• Education on alternative labor pain control methods
• Prenatal and postpartum care services
• ER assessment and treatment
