Improving Quality at Our Lady of the Lake

Our Lady of the Lake reports information on hospital performance related to healthcare processes through Hospital Compare.
We have made a significant investment in the following areas and continue improvements:

Technology – Our caregivers and multidisciplinary teams use state-of-the-art software technology and clinical information systems to reinforce patient safety throughout the organization.

Scanning system - OLOL has also implemented bar-coding, a scanning system that helps nurses ensure the right medication is given to the right patient and provide a reliable reminder system to enhance communication between care teams.

Physician Involvement - Physicians are involved in every aspect of the hospital’s quality initiatives and lead teams to address processes, make recommendations for improvement and guide implementation.
