Team Member Engagement

Our Lady of the Lake believes in engaging team members and providing outlets for talents beyond the job description. We also value feedback as an essential way to improve operations to better deliver the Spirit of Healing to our community and region.

Spirit Link Committee

Are you an energetic organizer who can't get enough of planning events and activities? Or are you simply interested in taking a small role in helping your fellow team members have a little fun? No matter what your ultimate goal, our SpiritLink committee is right for you!

Our SpiritLink committee is a volunteer group comprised of OLOL team members that organizes events and activities to provide fellowship and fun for team members and their families. Annual SpiritLink committee activities include a family Easter Egg Hunt, Hospital Week activities, a Christmas Party, Trick or Treat Trail, a St. Patrick's Day Parade event, and much more.

Feedback and Communication

Team members have a voice in the future of Our Lady of the Lake. To assist us in providing a premier employment experience, we conduct a confidential team member opinion survey every year. This survey helps us gather information about the perceptions of team members.

Other tools OLOL utilizes to engage team members are:

  • Towne Hall meetings – Employees are invited to hear organization updates and have questions answered by members of the senior leadership team.
  • TowneTalk – An online application which provides team members an opportunity to ask our Chief Operating Officer questions about the operations of the organization.
  • Ask HR -  Allows employees to submit questions online to Human Resources about pay, benefits, policies and more.
  • TeamWorks – An employee suggestion program through which ideas can be submitted to improve the organization.

As a team member at Our Lady of the Lake, your opinion always matters, and there are many opportunities for your voice to be heard.

Our Lady of the Lake communicates with team members in a variety of ways, including a regularly updated intranet, electronic display boards, and email for each employee. One of the hallmarks of our culture is a standard brief, informative huddle each day. All departments follow a hospital-wide format called "Everyday Excellence Exchange," allowing department area to receive the same communication throughout the week. Gathering as a department for a quick overview of organizational announcements and tips also offers team members the opportunity to discuss work logistics and recognize coworkers for ways they have delivered the premier experience.
